The Smoking gun comes ready to use with two samples of sawdust with a typical American flavour : applewood yields a light sweet scented smoke often used for ham, poultry and game whereas Hickory (close relative to the walnut tree) yields a distinctive stronger smoke commonly used to flavour beef, game or pork – e.g. pork shoulder or beef brisket.
